A comedy show full of life lessons and hidden meanings will make you laugh so bad and cry so hard without any warnings.

ABC’s “Modern Family” -- a sitcom that has taken home 22 Emmys, including five Emmys in a row for Outstanding Comedy Series between 2010 and 2014 -- has finished its 11th season, capping out a more than ten-year run.

About ‘Modern Family’

Modern Family is an ABC comedy series created by Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan. Made as a mockumentary, it centers on the daily lives of three diverse family set-ups in suburban Los Angeles, linked by Jay Pritchett and his children, daughter Claire and son Mitchell.

Patriarch Jay married Gloria, a gorgeous Latina who was considerably younger than him. Gloria has a little son, Manny, who is introspective and mature beyond his years.

Jay's daughter Claire is a control freak homemaker. She married Phil Dunphy, a real estate agent, also a well-meaning goofball who tries to be the “cool dad”. They have three very different children: a stereotypically sassy teenage girl Haley; an intelligent but nerdy middle child Alex; and Luke, the eccentric only son.

Mitchell, Jay's son, is a rational lawyer, the polar opposite of his flamboyant husband Cameron Tucker. They nurture a Vietnamese-born adoptive daughter, Lily Tucker-Pritchett.

It's all the reflection of what ABC believes to be a "modern family," and the results are bittersweet: hilarious, witty but also touching and meaningful.

What makes it attractive

The film, which belongs to the comedy genre, features a highly sarcastic situation. The filming style is similar to reality shows in that the characters frequently sit and speak directly to the camera. Because the material concentrates on a family theme, the transmission is particularly close, friendly, and adorable. You'll feel as if you're at home with your family.

Sitcoms are supposed to be entertaining, but Modern Family, in addition to being humorous, taught us essential life lessons via the experiences of various family members, both adults, and children, in each episode.

True to its name, this show put the story of a homosexual couple named Mitch and Cam front and center, portraying them as a normal family with their own set of issues, such as raising an adopted kid in a society where many are still hesitant to embrace the concept of same-sex couples. "Modern Family" successfully normalizes the concept of homosexual couples and leads people to view them as human beings.

One more special thing is that there is no laugh track in this series. You will giggle by yourself in some intelligently humorous situations.
