In current days of social distancing, the kitchen has evolved into a creative zone where new dishes are created, with the simplest and most basic ingredients.
Anyone can become a home chef during this lockdown period.
Using just leftover rice and rice paper — common kitchen items — people may prepare various delectable foods, including pizza, tokbokki, or snacks.
These multiple inspirational dishes and recipes went viral on TikTok and were practised by many over the isolation period.
Tokbokki
Tokbokki is a traditional Korean spicy stir-fried rice cake. This popular dish has been modified by young Vietnamese people in a simple, versatile and creative version, with the main ingredient being rice paper.

Rice cakes made from rice paper are flexible, chewy, soft, and aromatic. Many people believe that this new version is ideal for dieters since it has fewer calories than typical rice cakes.
This recipe is so well-known that the keyword "Vietnamese rice paper Tteokbokki" has got numerous searches on Korean social networking sites.
How to make:
Dip the rice paper in water, place it on a dish, and let it sit for approximately 3 minutes before rolling it up tightly.
Cut into bite-sized pieces.
Add a little ketchup, chilli sauce, Korean chilli powder, butter, water, and seasoning to a pan. Add the rice cakes and simmer for about 3 minutes.
Boba
Bubble tea is one of young people’s favourite things to sip on during the summer. Originating from Taiwan, bubble tea usually consists of sweetened tea with milk and the characteristic chewy tapioca balls, also known as boba.
Most stores were closed because of the outbreak, leaving many individuals with unsatisfied boba milk tea cravings. Some people opt to make their tapioca pearls — a process that can take hours — to fulfil their hunger, while others devise a quick, simple and efficient recipe.

How to make:
Dip the rice paper in water until it is pliable, then set it on a level surface and roll it up.
Cut into 1 cm pieces.
Cook brown sugar till melted, then fold in rice paper.
Pour the pearls into a glass, then add the tea, fresh milk, and ice.
This bubble tea recipe was created for the lazy, who want to make pearls at a minimal cost, yet with the same quality as the original.
Crispy rice
Crispy rice, also known as burned rice or crunchy rice, is an addictive side dish made by browning rice in oil until a thin, golden crust forms. It's a fantastic way to use up leftover rice.

This dish became renowned during the period of separation, the obvious choice for many people, due to its exceptionally wonderful taste, crispy texture, and ease of preparation.
How to make:
Mix the cooked rice with a bit of salt, put out a silpat or parchment paper.
Place another layer on top, and flatten the rice with a rolling pin or a long glass bottle.
To make circle pieces, press down firmly with the lip of the cup.
Brush a thin coating of soy sauce on the surface of the rice pieces with a brush or a spoon.
Add oil to a pot or deep pan over medium heat. Add the rice when the oil has heated up.
Cook the rice until it is golden, remove it from the pan, and set it on absorbent paper to crisp up.
With this simple recipe, those without much culinary knowledge can easily make a snack to sip over these days of social distancing.
Pizza
Pizza — a dish of Italian origin served in formal settings — can also be cooked at home, with leftover rice. This recipe creates a crispy, fragrant pizza foundation, as well as a harmonised European-Asian cuisine.

How to make:
Season the cooked rice with salt, sugar and a tablespoon of fish sauce. Mix it well with two eggs, then add the pepper and green onion.
Add a tablespoon or so of vegetable oil to a pan over medium heat. Add the rice and spread it out to cover the entire bottom of the pan. Poke a few holes in the top of the rice so steam can escape.
Cook the rice until it begins to steam all over, then reduce the heat to low.
Flip it over when the bottom of the rice forms a golden crust. Cover the rice with ketchup, then layer on the Da Lat chilli, onion, tuna, sweet corn, and cheese one by one.
When the topping is cooked, turn up the heat to crisp up the pizza dough.
